Myotherapy
Myotherapy is a manual therapy focusing on the diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal pain. It involves the therapeutic process of relieving pain through the manual treatment and manipulation of muscles, ligaments and tendons. Myotherapists assess and treat myofascial pain, injury and dysfunction affecting movement and mobility of the body. Treatment is applied in the preventative, corrective and rehabilitative phases of therapy to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structure (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) of the human body. Common forms of treatment techniques include Soft and Deep Tissue mobilization, myofascial release, cupping, dry needling, TENS, corrective exercise and MET (muscle-energy techniques).
